STATEMENT OF INTENTIONS

My movie is based on a woman who is a spy. My intention is to intrigue the audience through the mise-en-scene used, the camera shots and the sound. The movie starts with a long shot of the city to set the scene and give an idea to the audience of where she is as her work is travelling around the world. My idea is to make an opening that can intrigue the audience in 2 minutes so that they can get the taste of what is going to happen. If the start is successful the audience will be engaged and they would want to watch more. As I am using a cliffhanger at the end of the 2 minutes it will leave the audience with the tension which will build up the drama and action.

These are the key point that I am going to use:
·My colour palette is very brilliant as it is set in the daytime and she is dressed with a colour dress (which connotes how everything is going perfectly but then something is going to go wrong as she receives the call at the end)

·The idea that I have for the music is to make it as intriguing as possible so that it can go with the theme but also with the setting and her personality (for example, Ocean’s 8, hotel scene)

·Her having expensive shopping bags connote her being wealthy and empowered, also as she is stepping out of the car with someone holding the door, adding on to the butler in her apartment that serves her

·In order to make it more good looking I am going to use very specific camera shots and a lot of close ups to make the audience concentrate on specific things which are the most important

·The hair and makeup that I am going to use in my main character also denotes her personality of being classy, elegant and sassy, as well with her clothing

·In my movie I am trying to portray her character very smoothly in a very short time, as it can make the audience get the taste of the following scene.

·As it is set in the centre of Madrid it reinforces the idea of her lap of luxury and her position in life.

·Through this aspects, my target audience involves around females all over the age of 15-25

·In espionage films the typical codes and conventions are:
-A strong introduction which includes action
-A female character (my main character)
-A villain (in my film it is presented where she opens her computer to see the file of the next mission in Rome)
-An low key lighting that makes it intriguing to the audience
-A strong Music choice which can make the audience directly know the theme as it is a house style of espionage films
-A strong and brave personality of the character

I am going to try to use all of the things above as it is going to bring out the idea of the tension and pressure. My intention is to make it memorable as a specific feeling has to be communicated to the audience in order to be engaged with my film.
