MISE-EN-SCENE

Mise en scene is separated in hair and make up, costume, decoration and lighting. In order to meet with my genre I used the mise en scene to represent it. 

HAIR AND MAKEUP: 

For hair and makeup I decided to first do a more natural look in order to reflect that she is at the house and sad. Then when she is shown happy and well dressed, her hair and make up changes and she is represented more elegant through the good quality of her make up. 

The red lipstick is representing the empowerment of the actress and how she is feeling more emotionally stable. 

COSTUME: 

What I wanted to transmit with the costume is the different stages of emotions that she is passing throughout the video.

1) The first outfit she is wearing her pyjamas with a sweatshirt so it makes it clear that she is at home and that she is not good mentally. Additionally, the colours I used for this outfit also transmit sadness and loneliness as there are black and grey.

2) The second outfit shown is also with a hoodie but I used a more vivid colour to show the changes of emotion. This hoodie is baby blue and this can transmit sadness but at the same time happiness, showing she is better but not at her greatest. Additionally, it being a hoodie makes it feel more baggy and makes it seem that she dosen't mind what she is wearing. 

3) The last outfit I used was the one that needed to stand out as it is showing emotional stage in which she is in her best. This outfit transmits happiness and sense of relief. The outfit consists of a golden top and black trousers.

DECORATION: 

For the decoration y used a very simple typical house in Spain. I did this as it matched perfectly with the aesthetic I wanted to transmit with the decoration. The mix of colours, from the blue of the wall and the headboard to the red of the mantel in the kitchen, makes it all contrast

LIGHTING: 

The lighting I used was high key lighting and mainly ambient lighting. I wanted to have a lot of lighting in order to show every little detail as I used numerous close up and extreme close ups.
